At Faith Christian Center, we’re real people chasing real truth — learning, growing, and doing life together. We’re here to encourage, comfort, and laugh with one another as we grow in Christ.
Faith Christian Center held the first worship service on March 11, 1984. Founded by Pastors Gene and Betty Gilliam, FCC sought to connect people with the truth of the word of God and the power of faith in Jesus. Pastors Gene and Betty held that it was God’s desire that people of all backgrounds, genders, and ethnicities receive all that the word of God says they can have through faith and truth.
Mrs. Selma Thorton, Pastor Betty’s mother, is remembered fondly for her active role in the success of Faith Christian Center. Today, we continue to honor her legacy through the work of FCC. In the words of Mrs. Selma, Learn to Love, Love to Learn, and Dream Big!
Dr. Betty Gilliam co-founded Faith Christian Center alongside her husband, Dr. Gene Gilliam. She finished her race with great faith and entered her heavenly reward in the winter of 2025. A pioneer, pastor, teacher, and friend, Pastor Betty was known for her deep love for Jesus, her passion for truth, and her unwavering faith.
Her legacy continues through the ministry of FCC and her book, Introduction to Holy Spirit: The Faith Connection, where her clear and powerful teaching lives on. Those touched by her love and wisdom carry her impact forward.
Under Pastor Gene’s leadership, Faith Christian Center remains committed to connecting people to truth and faith — both locally and around the world. Lives are being changed through sound biblical teaching and the unshakable belief that God’s love heals, provides, and restores.
Faith Christian Center values authentic faith, real relationships, and the transforming power of God’s love. We believe in doing life together, speaking truth with grace, and creating space for every generation to grow and thrive through the Gospel of Jesus.
We love God and people deeply, and we’re committed to being known by that love. Our worship is rooted in Scripture and draws us closer to His presence.
We serve with compassion — meeting physical and spiritual needs in our church, community, and beyond. Through both word and action, we share the hope of Jesus with the world.
We’re growing together in faith, helping one another become more like Christ through intentional discipleship and sound biblical teaching.
We pursue unity as one family in Christ, embracing diversity and walking in love. We seek to live holy lives, surrendered to God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit.
